Ramesh Cidambi is the Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Duty Free (DDF) and is responsible for all aspects of the company's operation and reporting to the Executive Vice Chairman & CEO.
Prior to taking over this role on June 1st, 2016, Ramesh looked after the Information Technology and Logistics functions at DDF as Senior Vice President. He also led the team that oversaw the development of DDF’s retail offer at both of Dubai’s airports. Recent projects include the opening of Concourse D in February 2016, and also the design and construction of the Head Office and automated Distribution Centre that supports DDF’s retail business. He also helped to complete the construction of the DDF owned Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, which together with the Irish Village and Century Village, is a part of the Leisure business of Dubai Duty Free.
He started the Information Technology function in 1987, and had led the implementation of systems including legacy applications, Point of Sale, Oracle e-business suite 12i, Oracle Retail applications and Oracle Commerce (for the e-commerce click and collect service).
Ramesh holds an MBA degree from Utah State University and a B.S. degree from Loyola College (Chennai, India), and his primary leisure interests are sailing and yoga.
