For the 16th consecutive year, Dubai Duty Free was named the “Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping in the Middle East” at the recently concluded Business Traveller Middle East awards held on the eve of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 24th – 27th April), at the Palazzo Versace Dubai.
Dubai Duty Free, which achieved sales of US$1.85 billion in 2016, came out tops in the readers’ survey conducted by the magazine within the category “Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping in the Middle East.”
More than 200 executives from the travel industry attended the awards ceremony hosted by Motivate and Panacea Publishing, and with Michelin-star chef Vineet Bhatia as guest of honour.
Commenting on the latest award, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin said: “This award reflects the views and opinions of frequent travelers and to receive this for the 16th consecutive year is very special and reflects the hard work of all of our employees. I would like to thank H.H. The award was presented to Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer by Vineet Bhatia and H.E. Paul R. Malik, Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai.
