With a Zumba Class at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and a Cycling Event in Meydan
The Dubai Fitness Challenge has entered its fourth weekend and as part of the initiative, Dubai Duty Free hosted two corporate activities, a Zumba class on Friday, 10th November and a cycling event on Saturday, 11th November. The two activities took place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and in Meydan, respectively.
On Friday afternoon, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium has temporarily turned into a fitness hub with its ‘Zumba Class’ filled with 220 adrenaline-charged Dubai Duty Free employees.
The 1-hour Zumba Class was the second corporate activity conducted in support of Dubai Fitness Challenge. The highly anticipated intense workout was conducted by a freelance Zumba instructor Shulamite Berte, with each session designed to help employees stay in shape. The class included dance-based exercise inspired by Latin and fusion upbeat rhythms. The fun cardio training used simple choreography, some elements from aerobics and some from Latin American dance styles.
The next day, Saturday morning saw around 50 cycling enthusiasts ride their bicycle for a 25km cycling race at District One Cycling and Running Track in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One in Meydan. Leading the initiative from the management side was Executive Vice President for Commercial, Nic Bruwer, who hit the road with his bicycle to get to Meydan along with the members of Dubai Duty Free Cycling Team. The cyclists completed between one and three laps (8-25 km).
Commenting on the event, Nic Bruwer said; “Dubai Duty Free is proud to continuously support this great initiative and the positive impact of these two corporate activities resonate with the goal of this initiative to make the emirate “the most active city” in the world. We believe that all employees including the management team have the duty to establish a healthy working environment and to promote an active lifestyles within the company.”
Nic Bruwer was also joined by Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer and Michael Schmidt, Senior Vice President – Retail Support.
The last corporate activity will be the Iyengar Yoga to be conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Cidambi and his wife Alpana, who are both certified Iyengar Yoga teachers, at the Ballroom of Dubai Duty Free-owned Jumeirah Creekside Hotel on 18th November.
