In fine form Lee fired a gross 82 and 43 stableford points from the 7/8 handicap allowance to take the championship by a clear four points.
George Horan, Deputy Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free commented, “ “The annual Dubai Duty Free Golf Cup has been running for 18 years and the tournament has grown quite popular, with 98 entries this year. I would like to thank Dubai Creek for organizing this wonderful event and look forward to seeing you all next year.”
In the men’s division, Peter Traber clinched the overall division win on a superb 39 points by a count back over the last nine holes from defending champion Ivan Lawson. Lawson clinched the overall gross prize for the day with a wonderful performance of one under par 70 and 37 gross points.
The next overall lowest score was by Richard Firth who was awarded the overall best senior for the day with 38 points. Stephen Fidler also scored 38 points and finished in first runners up place in the men’s division with Yves Aboukhaled one point behind in second runners up spot with 37 points by virtue of his better back nine of 19 points.
Joy Lirio won the overall ladies division with a solid and very consistent 36 points. Satnam Kaur finished in first runners up place with a great effort of 35 points and in second runner up was Suad Ghalib with 29 points.
The overall junior division was highly contested and the in-form Paul Saad managed to take home the silverware with 36 points.
Also collecting prizes from Dubai Duty Free for their longest drive efforts were Haroon Mahmood and Nasha Sarkari. The two nearest the pin prizes nearly witnessed hole in one’s with two fantastic iron shots from Khalid Al Halyan and Aaron O’Hara.
