107th Dollar Millioniare Announced in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionare Promotion

Tuesday, 20th July, 2010 – Dubai Duty Free conducted its 107th Millennium Millionaire draw, announcing Jordanian national, Mr. Mohammed Barajakly, as the lucky winner of US$1 million.

Mr. Barajakly is the sixth Jordanian national to win the ‘Millennium Millionaire’ promotion since it began in 1999. Based in Dubai for seven years Mr. Barajakly is a regular participant in Dubai Duty Free’s promotions. He purchased his winning ticket no. 0898 in Series 107 when travelled to Amman, Jordan for a family visit.

On being notified that he became the lucky dollar millionaire, an emotional Mr. Barajakly said, “I am very thrilled that I have won, this is simply amazing and I thank Dubai Duty Free for making this happen”.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw three lucky winners were also announced today in the Finest Surprise promotion.

Mr. Floyd Crasto, an Indian national based in Mumbai won a sporty BMW X6 50i Mineral Silver in Series 1430 with ticket no. 0448 while Mr. Nidal Hassan, a Lebanese national won a Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe in Series 1435 with ticket no. 0597.

Mr. Hassan who has lived in Dubai since 1995 and owns the family-run business, the ‘Lifco Group’, was understandably excited about his win as he joins a group of his lucky family and friends who had previously won with Dubai Duty Free: his uncle won a Maserati Spyder in the Finest Surprise promotion in 2002 and his friends won in the Millionaire promotion back in 2003 and 2004.

“I am especially delighted to win this car as I am planning to give it to my younger brother as a birthday present. I had a strong feeling that I would win today and it did happen!” commented Mr. Hassan upon receiving a phone call from Dubai Duty Free.

Yet another winner announced today was Mr. Mark Turner, a British national based in Dubai won a stylish Harley Davidson FLSTF – Fat Boy in Series 168 with ticket no. 0073.

A presentation of an earlier Finest Surprise promotion was also held today when Mr. Dalzar Rasheed Hussein, a forty three year old businessman from Erbil, Iraq, took some time off from his work to receive the keys for the Black BMW 750 Li, which he won in Series no. 1428 – ticket no. 0032.

The draw was conducted in Sheikh Rashid Terminal by Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, George Horan, Deputy Managing Director, Ramesh Cidambi, Director – IT & Logistics and Sinead El Sibai, Manager Events, Advertising and Media Relations.
